Sarah, a Registered Nurse (BSc,) has over 20 years nursing experience after qualifying in 1999.
She has extensive experience, a nursing diploma from Nortumbria University, a BSc in Nursing Studies from Manchester University and a MSc in Leadership and Management from Northumbria University, which she passed with distinction.
Sarah held her previous role as Matron in medicine and elderly care at South Tyneside and Sunderland NHS Foundation Trust for 12 years. Prior to that she was a Ward Manager in elderly care at the Freeman Hospital in Newcastle and prior to that, a Junior Sister in elderly care at Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Gateshead.
Sarah has a passion for elderly care, she said: "I believe in giving residents the best possible experience at their one of the most vulnerable time in their lives delivered by a well skilled and compassionate workforce. I believe that the matron role is fundamental in ensuring that quality care is delivered in an organisation through visible and effective leadership."
